Speaking at the official opening ceremony of the fair, İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of Tüyap Fairs Inc., said, "In our Moda Gaziantep Fair, which we will hold for the first time in Gaziantep, we are hosting 161 participating companies, including children's, women's, and men's ready-to-wear manufacturers, fabric-producing companies, and auxiliary industries in a closed area of 14,000 square meters. We will bring together participating companies from 11 cities with 350 foreign buyers from 35 countries and thousands of professional visitors. We expect the visit of approximately 20,000 sector professionals, both domestic and foreign. I would like to thank all stakeholders who contributed to the organization of our fair. I wish the fair to be auspicious for the industry, the region, and Gaziantep."
Reis Reisoğlu, the collaborator of the fair and Chairman of the PENKON Board of Directors, said, "Our industry made significant industrial investments in Gaziantep in the early 1970s, along with machinery and raw material investments in most industrial sectors. Hopefully, our fair will have continuity in opening up to the international market. I would like to thank all the institutions of the city that never left us alone and provided support."
Hüseyin Öztürk, President of the Fashion and Ready-to-Wear Federation, said, "Gaziantep is not only important in certain sectors but also in the ready-to-wear sector. I believe that this fair will take on an important mission by bringing producers together. Without stopping, without letting the sweat cool, I hope it will be a fair that runs, and I thank everyone who supported the organization of the fair."
Adnan Ünverdi, President of the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, who stated that the fair brought together sector professionals, manufacturers, and buyers, said, "The textile and ready-to-wear sector is one of the indispensable sectors for both our city and our region. Gaziantep produces in many sectors and in many production branches; especially the textile and ready-to-wear sector is of great importance with its potential in production, export, and employment. Like this fair, we need to accelerate our work on clustering in the sector. As Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, we continue our projects to add value to our sector, especially clustering. I believe that our Moda Gaziantep Fair, which we have realized in this direction, has made important contributions for our companies to come together on a common ground. I wish the fair to be auspicious for our sector, our city, and our region."
Gaziantep Deputy Governor Anıl Alkal, who opened the fair, said, "I am greatly honored and pleased to be with you today at the opening of this fair. Gaziantep is a growing city. Rather than large capitals, the biggest capital of Gaziantep is the courage of its industrialists. This fair is quite important, especially in terms of bringing producer companies together with visitors in terms of jersey and clothing. We believe that this unity created here today will yield beneficial results, establish connections not only for Gaziantep but also for our country and our guests from other countries. Thank you." He expressed his thoughts.
